Founded in 1911, the Peterborough and District Beekeepers' Association is a group of beekeepers and people interested in beekeeping living in and around Peterborough - from Oundle in the west, through the city itself and out to the Fens. The Association's purpose is to promote and further the craft of beekeeping, something it has been doing through its meetings, events and shows for over 100 years - we recently celebrated our centenary.

Membership is open to all beekeepers and others interested in the craft on payment of a small annual subscription which includes a fee payable to the British Beekeepers' Association (BBKA) - the official body representing beekeepers in Britain. BBKA indemnifies its members under a public liability policy for any claims arising from their beekeeping activities and also provides legal services, conducts examinations and runs a national beekeeping centre. A membership form can be downloaded here.

We are also pleased to work in cooperation with Stamford and Bourne Beekeepers' Association who can be contacted through George Woolf, 188 Casterton Road, Stamford (georgewwoolf@yahoo.com).

From October to March, we hold meetings each month and organise a winter programme of talks on topics of interest to beekeepers with contributions from local and national experts.

In the Spring and Summer our meetings continue every month and we also hold an auction of beekeeping equipment to help new members find their feet quickly in this fascinating craft. We run courses at our base at Sacrewell Farm and Country Centre for beginners.

You will be able to find members from the Association at many local events and shows - at each venue we have a stand demonstrating beekeeping and selling honey and other products. We are also very happy to visit local schools for educational purposes.

Please feel free to contact us for further details.
